Make Mistakes

That was how the MC called me to perform.
I have never done spoken word before but I'm used to listening to them. I was scared.

I climbed the stage and grabbed the Mic. It was as if the whole world was right before me.
I remembered what my vice principal told me in secondary school that "Whenever you feel too timid to face the audience, just ignore their countenances and keep eyes at the ceiling".

I did as she had advised. I began...
.
Unfortunately, I had not finished the first verse of my poem when I lost everything. It was like that evil bird has come to take them away.
.
I have seen much more humiliations than that so that saved my face from tears. I shamefully dropped the Mic and left the stage.

I have the courage to tell you this because...

That was 2 years ago.
Ever since that day, such has never happened again.

Yes!
It will never happen because mistakes are not meant to repeat themselves.
We are to learn from them.

Make mistakes by trying things_New things.
Let them laugh but learn from the flaws.
Compete and lose but open your eyes only to get better.
.
.
But if you are scared of mistakes. Just sit down, sleep away your time and when the end comes, the world shall forget you alongside your name because you have done nothing but live.
You have only lived. You have helped God to waste his breath.
